The Beautiful Equation
My father liked to pun, so this is for him on Father’s Day! Ironically, he wasn’t a fan of Math, but he would appreciate this.
The Beautiful Equation
Sometimes you may feel separated,
As though not integral or
Just a mere fraction.
But you are the one sum.
There is no math better
Than your axioms.
If only you could be multiplied.
How much grander would the total be
And how much more logical the world.
You are a unique matrix, and
You shine with symmetry in your design.
You are your own beautiful equation.

Ego
Ego
Self-regard is essential for growth of love,
But ego can consume the soul of the one
And the soul of the all
If left to weed.
This is the time to tend the garden.
Let not rain to storm
Nor bounty to spoil
For the sake of self alone.
Fruit is to share, not squander.
One can’t tend the plants in hot sun
Wearing a crown.
A scepter makes a dull spade.
The garden can’t flourish
In the hands of the Shadow.

A Message From the Nightingale
Here is the complete poem and audio based on yesterday’s post.
A Message from the Nightingale
At times, it seems I wander alone in pain,
Friendless, except for the wounds, so
I seek a guardian for fortitude and healing
From a realm of unseen glory.
The nightingale sings that
The gate’s not closed.
Your prayers are heard
Along the songlines
In the Great Garden,
Exploding into spectrums of light.
Surrender to calm.
Your guardian is here, for
Your prayers are keys to her abode.
The gate’s not closed.
It is your heart.

Be As Water
Be as water,
Flowing from falls into silt,
Creating pools and streams,
Moving around rocks
And through openings in
Masses of reeds.
Be as water,
Flowing without obstruction.
Finding its course
Over the embankments, and
Finding stillness
In pools fed by streams.
Be as water,
Earth’s pulse,
Flexible, agile,
Life giving, lithesome.
Its supple force,
Cleansing all.
Be as water,
Its nourishment, creating and sustaining life.
Its steam, forming clouds
In Earth’s simmering heat,
The ice in her arctic breath,
Piercing fog.
Be as water,
Pure and enriching,
With powers that can’t be harnessed.
It’s Earth’s blood,
Pumping life into her veins
With vital force.
Be as water,
Dangerous and destructive
If Earth’s veins are slit.
Her roaring torrents of tears
Are savage and fatal.
Water knows its course.
Be as water,
A force of peace and joy,
Spitting up shells and glassy treasures.
A force of nature,
Sweeping away the ages
That need rebirth.
