A Message From the Nightingale

Here is the complete poem and audio based on yesterday’s post.

A Message from the Nightingale

At times, it seems I wander alone in pain,

Friendless, except for the wounds, so

I seek a guardian for fortitude and healing

From a realm of unseen glory.

The nightingale sings that

The gate’s not closed.

Your prayers are heard

Along the songlines

In the Great Garden,

Exploding into spectrums of light.

Surrender to calm.

Your guardian is here, for

Your prayers are keys to her abode.

The gate’s not closed.

It is your heart.

Clandestine Spirit

Clandestine Spirit

Clandestine Spirit, there is a fold

In the universe for you.

Obscurity hidden, your disguise,

A soul unmanifested,

Cloistered layers of debris of

Expectation and self-deprecation,

Your sparkle diminished into secrets,

Fear of scintillating into recognition.

Your flame, unsanctioned,

Unholy fire of dead stars.

What is your jewel to guard,

Entombed truth?

Is this place your urn

Or your womb?

Fear is the breath of sin;

Forgiveness, the gold of God.

Tree of Life

Tree of Life

Our map to the stars,

Arborial root seaward.

Your Flower of Life,

Sprouting all fruit, all roots, and

Foraging Soul in the Light.

The Garden of Thoughts

The Garden of Thoughts

The garden of thoughts planted in spring

Still struggles if not managed.

Seeds bearing the fruit of life in shade and sun,

Nurturing bees and monarchs, can become

Tangled with weeds and eaten by blight.

Thoughts sustained by dew and noon rains

Can be forgotten and neglected by autumn light as

Thoughts blooming and stretching for sun

Can shrivel, scorched by drought in time

If the gardener takes leave

Of the rake, spade, and bucket, or

Lacks the wisdom of soils and seedlings.

Too much sun is unkind to bleeding heart.

If left in the field, pumpkins rot.

Honeysuckle makes a home in the untended mind.

Hostas thrive if transplanted but

Shred to decay if neglected.

Bees can’t thrive on blight.

Though seasons change,

The garden can still be tended by the earth and

Made ready for the next planting

If tilled and nurtured properly.

The gardener’s harvest can be of bounty and bliss

Or mindless bramble

In his garden of thoughts.

New Audio: Crossing

Crossing a river can be like birth,
Dragged you are, down and around,
Only to burst out of the ripples,
Clean and nubile,
Wiggling to stretch
And grasp at the light for a line.
Washed and flung ashore,
Snapping off the memories
Like broken branches ready for the pyre,
You awake to recognition.

New Audio: Dark Matter

To Source and all beyond,

As Source has Source,

Unbound by time or speed of light.

What is my place in this abyss?

Of black holes and dark matter

Wrapping the galactic plane

Like a mother’s blanket for a babe?

What is within me expands and contracts,

Pushing away astral travelers and dodging debris

Floating by from past voyages

And cast away by Jupiter and

Left unanchored to each cell in my being,

Where pain begets pain

From collisions in comets’ midst.

Is Soul dark and dank, like

Empty space, a vacuum sucking

Life from kindred spirit?

Or is Dark Matter a coat

Woven for me to wear

In all time and ages

for many life ways under the stars?

New Audio: The Dark

We fear the darkness

though it holds a mystery

It’s our constant friend

For where there is night

there is light beckoning us

out of the obscure
