Heartfelt

Heartfelt

Love is sacred energy

Shared for transmutation.

Give so that you may receive;

Receive so that you may give.

Bounty has no dam.

Kindness circles back to its source, for

Its path is not that of an aimless arrow

Slicing the air to hit an unseen target

Into the middle of nowhere.

Love flows unheeded.

The balanced heart can heal while

A blocked heart can not.

Every in breath has an out breath, and

Blood brings life unimpeded.

Joy both enriches and receives.

Balance is a dance of gifts –

The gifts you present with lavish attention and

Those you welcome with humility.

You are worthy of the love you give.

Do not be shy or retreat from your heart.

You deserve to be seen, and

You deserve the joy of the love and healing

That you shower on all.

Allow that light into your heart.

Allow the love to return to your spirit

To be hewn into gold.

This lustrous, pure, hallow metallurgy

Of transformation is ascension.

As you share this treasure

So will it gain value

Each time it is returned to you,

And all will thrive on this infinite cycle

Of love and grace.

Betrayed!

Betrayed

When I first found you,

I thought you were the real deal,

Handsome and of means.

Your mystery and promises

Of jewelry and charitable contributions,

Maybe even a luscious meal with fine wine.

Your credentials looked superb at first glance.

How no one had found you before

Is beyond me, but there you were,

Out there where all could see and in my grasp.

I felt blessed for my good works perhaps or

Just my generous nature, attracting value.

I kept you hidden, my treasure!

How I bragged about my new love!

Friends and family celebrating this bond we made –

No one had ever found such a prize just by chance! –

Until we discovered your true worth

Upon scrutiny as it unfolded!

Your heart, counterfeit;

Our love, a sham!

How duped I was by your smile and

Those eyes, your vivid presence;

Your charisma was regal;

Your sources, trusted;

Your history, infallible!

I was blind and hopeful that the treasure was authentic;

My dreams were shattered by your fake demeanor,

A mere cheap costume!

My fall from grace hit me hard.

You are but a cheap imitation.

Those eyes, mocking slits,

Your smile, a sneer!

My love, a low and vile scoundrel in waiting

For an innocent soul.

Image: The fake 100-dollar bill printed by the United Stars of Halloween. I found this folded up on grass along a pathway I was walking on and trying to clean up just to be a good citizen. I felt pretty excited and told everyone I had found 100 dollars! Well, upon closer examination if the bill, I found It was just paper. I was so disappointed and, of course, embarrassed that I hadn’t been more discerning in my excitement. The whole incident reminded me of love gone wrong out of in-authenticity.

Sacred Things

So many sacred things

We have in our lives

On dusty shelves

Or messy desks.

Hidden in plain sight,

Demure whispers from these

Soul collages.

Tiny angels and fairies,

Happy Buddhas sitting on lace,

Quan Yin, chipped from a fall,

Shamans and crystals,

Creating shadows of light

On our pens.

Handmade dolls with stories,

A figure holding the ball

Next to the Tao,

Bracelets of jasper and jade,

Geodes holding mala beads,

Singing bowls and

Stone owls chiming wisdom,

Oma’s thimbles,

Gifts of glass beads and feathers,

Heart-shaped sandstone,

Wooden boxes holding stones from the river,

Collages dressing books.

Treasures sparking intuition,

If only we listen.

The Simple

The simple

And the ordinary

Hold the truth.

Small caches

Of memories

Forming the matter

Of our lives.

Like fireflies

Born to blaze yet dim

In a spark.

Lit fiercely,

These tiny fires of

Simple knowing

Trace our days

Into glorious years

That lapse into

Eternity.

How we sleep

Unlit

Not seeing the treasure

Of the mundane.

I am Ocean

I am Ocean,

Scarlet shadows,

Waves of vibrant

Silken purple,

Breaking in the storm.

No horizon;

Sea is sky.

Sailor, find me.

Feel my sweeping,

Churning turmoil.

Find my turquoise

Silence pulsing

Black to violet,

Subdued in fever.

Sailor, find me,

This is treasure:

Sunken rainbows,

Gold untarnished,

Jewels like coral.

Capture my bounty;

Dread my mystery.

I am Ocean.

Feel me trembling.

Taste me salty.

Sailor, find me.

This is We.
