A Review of Three-Penny Memories by Susi Bocks!

Family dynamics, especially those shrouded in dysfunction, can be challenging to navigate; caring for a mother with Alzheimer’s makes it all the more difficult. However, in Barbara Leonhard’s first book, she faces this journey with courage. Three-Penny Memories left me recalling many of my childhood wounds and wondering if I would have handled them either with a willingness to endure or ultimately approached them with such grace. She did both and, with her thoughts of this impossible task, showed us how to do it. Brava, Barbara! (Suzi Bocks, I Write Her, iwriteher.com)

Thank you, Susi! I appreciate your positive review of my debut poetry book! I know it was healing for me to explore my relationship with my mother from my childhood to her passing. Sharing this journey is risky because I expose my soul to examine my love for Mom and also my love for myself. It is my hope that others will benefit from reading about my experience.
