Although I never found her channel, I was moved by the loss of a beautiful wife and mother who was a compassionate and empathic young woman. Her name was Mikayla Raines. She rescued foxes, and her YouTube channel was highly successful. But bullies drove her over the edge, her husband said, because she was emotionally vulnerable, unable to stand up to the harassment. In school, I noticed the bullies acted like predators. They knew who to target: Those who were highly sensitive, kind, and smart.
Being able to connect online has emboldened some people to target others. Our social discourse is off the rails. Everywhere now. We have to get a grip. Our words can harm the vulnerable. No doubt those who bully are suffering, too, but their retorts and mockery are weapons. Obviously, a cycle of abuse is a factor. Generational trauma is inflicted on others.
Our Pain Should Not Be Used as an Excuse for Harming Others. We Can Get Help.
I pray for this beautiful soul and her young family.

Loving Kindness
Because I practice Loving Kindness, I send love and compassion to those who are contentious. This group includes those who bully. They may not realize how their pain affects those they target. They are lost, off-center. I also realize that I feel lost and off-center at times, and capable of lashing out because of fear. My being aware of my vulnerabilities helps me increase my compassion for others.
The first person we send love to is ourselves, and that branches out to family, friends, teachers, strangers, the contentious, and all beings everywhere. This article includes a loving kindness meditation. Give it a try.

I love the words, “May I be safe and protected from inner and outer harm.”

Love is a drop of water that expands to all. A smile, a compliment, a soft touch. Be generous with the sparkle in your eyes.
