About Lesley
Lesley is a multi-talented artist with a career spanning acting, dancing, painting, stage production, book illustration, and filmmaking.
Lesley’s professional acting career in the theatre started when she was only a child.
Her professional art career began with her selling her paintings on the famous railings of Bayswater Road.
She worked as a scenic artist for Phil Parsons Studio, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and many stage productions.
A book illustrator illustrating children’s books and an artist / illustrator / animator for TV productions.
Lesley set up After-school drama and filmmaking workshops in inner-city schools. The young pupils produced several films that they screened at international film festivals.
She wrote her first musical play RAPSCALLION, an urban rap drama which debuted in the City of London, in 2007.
Her first sculpture, WALKING IN THE RAIN, won the V&A ceramics award in 2016.
Her portrait in oils of Dr Rukhsana is in the book NHS Portraits for Heroes, published by Bloomsbury, 2020.
She appeared as the cartoonist in Tennis That Counts for Channel 4 TV, which is to be re-released later this year.
She writes and illustrates poetry.
Lives in the City of London with her partner Andrew, and they have two sons.
