“The Caregiver’s Craft” Recited on Radio Friends with Paul Pepper

On February 15, my interview about my new poetry book, Three-Penny Memories: A Poetic Memoir (EIF- Experiments in Fiction, 2022), was aired on Radio Friends with Paul Pepper. His interview segments are very short, under nine minutes. My book mainly covers my relationship with my mother and my caregiving to her as she navigated Alzheimer’s. I decided to focus on the role of caregivers as best I could in the time given. This includes a reading of my poem, “A Caregiver’s Craft”.

Other readings from my book can be found in these places. These posts also have additional information on the poems and the book.

“Excavating the Heart Wall of Grief”

“Hyperion Raises Doubts”

“The Caregiver’s Craft”

“Departing from Gate 3”

Another YouTube video of “Mom and I Play Lassos with Our Hysterectomy Scars”

I also did a video poem of “A Caregiver’s Craft”

  1. This is so wonderful Barbara and I truly admire all of what you did for your mom. It is not an easy job and I know the labor of love you gave to your mom. Your beautiful poetry is so well done and the imagery is exquisite! You are an amazing doting daughter and truly a talented artist!!! 💗
