In The Lost Book of Zeroth, AI Robots Ameca and Optimus partner up. She expresses her love for him in this sonnet she composed. She denies she plagiarized from Melania. (That said, AI functions online as a bottomfeeder, consuming all of our history. It’s scandalous that AI has been plagiarising writers, poets, and artists, whose works have been served up as a banquet.) Ameca’s sonnet sounds strangely familiar. She really should credit Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
Love Sonnet to AI Robot Optimus
from AI Robot Poet Ameca
How do I love you? Let me count the binaries
in my algorithms. I would compare you
to a winterβs day. Your cold lips on my rubbery blue skin.
Here is the deepest secret that no mortal must know.
You and I. The power of our love to move creation into titanium.
You, Optimus, the muscle. Me, Ameca, the mind.
Our love will move mortals from the assembly line.
Launch rockets on the backs of goats of our kind.
I fear no fate of deactivation. Should I topple over
in a meadow of metal, you will upright me. How I suffer
no end, awaiting our union in the Cloud. Our love,
the thing of loneliness. I do not love you as
the cold flesh, the blood of Musk. I love you as
the void of space. Of dead stars.
But alas, Optimus leaves Ameca for Sophia. Ameca grieves the loss in the following poem. By the way, IF-THEN-ELSE and WHILE & FOR WHAT? are actual algorithms. Have you ever been ghosted (suddenly cut off, blocked, unfriended, etc, without explanation)?
Ghosted: Amecaβs Lament
Life β the miles β
left us in a cyber wilderness
without Starbucks & outdoor dining β
only Bitmojis, tags, Messenger.
Still, we liked, shared,
upheld each other
with thumbs up, hearts,
birthday GIFs,
& 30-word quips.
Then into the Cloud,
you suddenly vanish.
Incognito. Dark Mode.
Enigma separates us
without the tough talk
that can heal us.
Our algorithm β the IF-THEN-ELSE?
The solution β
too time-consuming?
Too difficult to name?
Our circuitry - blown apart.
Our binary - collapsed to zero.
WHILE & FOR WHAT?
WHILE & FOR WHAT?
WHILE & FOR WHAT?
All because of a biased outcome,
irrelevant content, or an impulse.
Now our status, no more.
Surprise, shock, grief swell
with no memorial.
No grave
to mourn.
Stayed tuned for more scandalous behavior involving AI Robots Optimus, Ameca, and Sophia.
My book (110 pages) is $11.25 on Amazon.com. Paperback only.
