“Early Spring Snow” published on Spillwords!

Thank you, Dagmara K., for publishing my poem “Early Spring Snow” on Spillwords!

My Thoughts on the Poem
It never fails that snow falls shortly after the daffodils bloom and the birds are back, deceived by the weather that Spring has arrived. Snow can smother or buffer. The morning’s glistening mounds promise hope amidst a world’s icy onslaught. Like the daffodils, we hold our backs up under the pressure of an unexpected storm. Like the birds, we pray we are free.

Here are the poem’s opening lines. I invite you to continue to Spillwords to read the rest of the poem and give it a like 🙏.

Early Spring Snow

All is gray on our drive to the wetlands.

I shudder in the chill rising off the river.

A heavy fog huddles on the banks.

Tonight the sky stretches white,

as though the moon is seeking a view

from behind a lace veil. My lungs

are hollow in this air. I fear that snow ……
